    During the proofreading of this manuscript, a fourth Desulfitobacterium sppgenome, the first of another species than D. hafniense, got published with several of the authors involved as well. D. dehalogenans contains six putative reductive dehalogenase genes and a largely reduced genome of only about 4.3 Mbp. The report describes proteomic, biochemical and spectroscopic analysis especially of the organohalide respiratory chain:
